Tom Townsend and Ben Handley-Pritchard finished as runners up in the recent Kaplan Blue Ribbon Pairs, held by the American Contract Bridge League (ACBL) as part of the three annual North American Bridge Championships (NABC). The event is played over three days and is the toughest Pairs event in the USA and of comparable level to the European Pairs.
The winners, were Italy’s Aldo Gerli and Andrea Boldrini. The duo, who led the contest after Thursday’s semi-final round, maintained control in the two-session final, posting 58.64% in the morning session and 53.23% in the afternoon to win the contest by a half board.
