EBED's Young Bridge Challenge was held this weekend on Saturday 2nd March and brought together over 100 bridge playing youngsters from various schools and bridge clubs, to compete in several competitions.
The Schools Cup was won by Haberdashers Askes A team (picture) who narrowly beat Loughborough A by 22 IMPs to 21; the final board was a 1 IMP swing to Habs A which ultimately decided the match. In the third-place playoff, St Paul’s A beat Eton.
The Schools Plate was awarded to KCS Wimbledon (picture) with a score of 77 VPs.
The Harry Scully trophy, awarded to the best placed team from a mix of schools was won by Harriet Cork (Lincs), Sophie Morris (Durham), Annabel Sutton and Sophia Ward (both London), with a score of 69 VPs (picture).
The novice competition was won by a team from Northbridge House School (picture), the runners up were from Acland Burghley School (picture). All are pictured here with England U16 coach Alan Shilletoe.
