EBU Games on Bank Holiday Monday 19th

As you will know, Monday 19th September is the day of the funeral of HM Queen Elizabeth II and the EBU has decided to cancel all online BBO games run by the national organisation on that day. It is for clubs to make their own decisions about their games, so if you are due to play in a local event please check with your club or county.

The Guernsey Congress, which is run by Guernsey CICBA on our behalf, starts at 8pm on Monday evening and will therefore be going ahead exactly as scheduled.

For those of you who run clubs yourselves and are considering what to do about your games on Monday, the Sports and Recreation Alliance (SRA) has told us:

"On the day of the State Funeral, organisations might wish to consider cancelling or postponing events or closing venues. Again, this is at the discretion of individual organisations.

"If sporting fixtures or events, at either elite or grassroots level, are planned for the day of the State Funeral, organisations may want to adjust the event timings so they don't clash with the timings of the funeral service and associated processions."

The SRA has also provided a link to the National Mourning Guidance

Please note the EBU office in Aylesbury will also be closed for the bank holiday.
