The EBU selection committee would like to invite applications for participation in the trials processes for the women’s, seniors and mixed teams.
Mixed:
A teams trial will be held from 2nd-5th February 2024.
Depending on the number of entries this will either involve one or two stages with the winning team earning the right to represent England at the European Championships.
Teams may contain 4-6 players, with additional players being added for the championship in consultation with the selection committee, if the winning team contains fewer than 6 players.
Women:
Depending on the number of entries, the intention is to hold a two stage trial.
The first stage will be an open entry pairs trial, with the possibility of pairs being exempted to stage two.
The second stage will be a teams trial, with teams formed from the pairs that qualify from the first stage in addition to any exempted pairs.
The winning team will earn the right to represent England at the European Championships with any additional players being added in consultation with the selection committee.
Stage one will be held from 9th-11th February 2024.
Stage two will be held from 1st-3rd March 2024.
Seniors:
Depending on the number of entries, the intention is to hold a two stage trial.
The first stage will be an open entry pairs trial, with the possibility of pairs being exempted to stage two.
The second stage will be a teams trial, with teams formed from the pairs that qualify from the first stage in addition to any exempted pairs.
The winning team will earn the right to represent England at the European Championships with any additional players being added in consultation with the selection committee.
Stage one will be held from 8th-10th March 2024.
Stage two will be held from 5th-7th April.
Should a player wish to enter more than one category then they will be committed to the first team that they qualify for, and having qualified for the championships, will no longer be eligible to participate in a later trial.
