International Events on RealBridge

RealBridge have been busy organising a number of new international events.

Their International Junior Festival was held across two days, on 3rd and 10th July, 2022. In total there were 23 nations taking part, including England. On one of the days USA, Chile and Hong Kong all participated in the same event - a feat considering the time difference! The total number of players and coaches was approximately 250.

“Bridge Across The Ditch” was an event run by two bridge clubs, one in Sydney, Australia and the other in Auckland, New Zealand. The event went well with a total of 124 pairs, covering a range of abilities from novice to tournament players. Both clubs enjoyed the event are looking forward to holding similar events in future.

RealBridge also helped the ACBL Education Foundation’s fundraising team to raise a total of $53,000 towards junior bridge. The event included an array of stars like Kit Woolsey and Bob Hamman.

Returning closer to home, the Warminster Bridge Club in Wiltshire recently organised a game with the Waverley Bridge Club in Melbourne, with the help of RealBridge. Play started at 10am UK time (7pm in Melbourne). This time was chosen as both clubs usually have a supervised play or social duplicate session at this time of the week. The clubs were divided so that Warminster BC players sat north/south, and Waverley BC players sat east/west, this helped both clubs overcome the uncertainty of the strength of each other's players. The event was a great success, with a follow up match due to be played in the Autumn.
