Still Time to Enter the British Winter Sim Pairs

January 5, 2022

There is still time for your club to take part in the first Simultaneous Pairs of 2022, the British Winter Sim Pairs, starting Monday 10th January.

The heat on Tuesday 11th is again being held in memory of the much loved Peter Jordan. Peter was the EBU’s widely-known Competitions department member who for many years was also responsible for running our overseas congresses. Trophies for the winners will be donated by Barbara Jordan and will be sent to the winners of Tuesday's event. Last year the inaugural event was won by Julian Pottage & Tony Ratcliff, from Helston BC (see here for details).

How to take part

Your club can quickly and easily register in the usual manner, through the club's account on My EBU. You can register right up until the start of the session in question. Commentary booklets will be available via your clubs My EBU page. Full details of how to register, and information on downloading the hands and submitting the results, can be seen here and here

This event will support your EBU. The proceeds from the event help us to provide services to the members, clubs and counties. By participating you are enabling the EBU to do more for bridge in England, and your club and members will see the direct benefit.

For 2022 the entry fees are £2.90 per player, plus the usual Universal Membership Subscription payment.

You may also wish to take part our next Sim Pairs in support of the Junior Squads, 7th - 10th February. This Sim Pairs is slightly different to others Sims events, the first set of deals can be played on Monday or Tuesday. The second set can be played on Wednesday or Thursday. This means a larger field in each competition, making it more interesting and enjoyable for those who take part.

Information on the benefits of participating in the event, including entry in the prize draw and more details on how clubs can participate, are available on the Sims page.

We hope to see you at your local club for this great nationwide event.
