The base for the congress will be the 4-star Kernos Beach Hotel, which boasts an idyllic location, overlooking its private, sandy beach and the sparkling blue Sea of Crete. Here, along the north coast of the island on the edge of Stalis, you are treated to the most amazing sunsets. There is one included guided tour to take you to Knossos and the Minoan Palace which flourished for approximately two thousand years and beholds thrilling legends such as the myth of the Labyrinth, with the Minotaur, and the story of Daidalos and Ikaros. Followed by a drive to Heraklion City, the capital of Crete, where you have free time to explore in the city centre and enjoy its squares, pedestrian area, and shops. For those interested, there is a guided tour to the Archaeological Museum (extra charges apply), which is one of the oldest and most important museums in Greece, and amongst the most famous in Europe. It represents artefacts from all periods of Cretan prehistory and history spanning over 5,500 years from the Neolithic period to the Roman times, and prides itself for its unique Minoan collection.
