The Plackett team of Alexander Allfrey, Peter Bertheau, Peter Crouch, Espen Erichsen, Richard Plackett & Andrew Robson, won the Schapiro Spring Foursomes. The team are pictured receiving the trophy at the venue.
The Plackett team finished ahead of the Dyson team (Erik Berg, Andrew Dyson, Tor Eivind Grude & Glyn Liggins) in the final. The Dyson team were leading narrowly after 32 boards but Plackett were able to request 8 extra boards because they were the undefeated team and they won after 40 boards.
The defeated semi-finalists were the Tommasini and Black teams.
The Punchbowl, the secondary knockout event, was won by the team of Linus Dahlstrom, Simon Ekenberg, Oliver Lawrence, Patrick Lawrence & Ulf Nilsson (picture). They beat the Preddy team in the final.
The winners of the Hamilton Cup, for the Swiss Teams on Monday, were the team of Barbara Hackett, Diana Hopfenheit, Sebastian Reim & Guido Hopfenheit (picture), finishing with a total score of 87 VPs
The event is part of the Player of the Year Championships. The win for the Plackett team puts them in the top 20, with three of the team now in 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in the table.
