Kay was born in Somerset, the fourth of five children in 1959. Kay is married to Norman Selway and lives in Kent. They have two children, Louise and James. Louise is a keen bridge player. Kay forged her career in financial services to whom she advised and assisted in making large changes.
Kay first played bridge at University. She has represented Great Britain and England.
