Maurice Schram

"Maurice joined the ECBA before 1950 and immediately started to recruit members in the Southend area. (With his wife, Teddy)...they started a county duplicate section, organised heats for county competitions and instituted the Crowstone Trophy which is still run today by Teddy with Maurice as tournament director.

Maurice was a member of the ECBA Committee for 25 years. They helped organise the fund-raising activities to buy a church to house the Southend-on-Sea bridge club and were also very active in helping when the Thorpe Bay Bridge Club was formed."
