The Northern Midweek Congress has now concluded, with Harrogate the venue for three days of weekday bridge.
The two-day Championship Pairs was won by Alan Mould & John Holland who finished with 62.60%, ahead Celia Oram & Derek Oram in second place, who scored 57.61%. Val Gibson & Pearl Murphy completed the podium with 57.33%.
The Swiss Teams competition was won by the team of Alan Jarvis, Tom Cohen, Alan Hayward & Robert Dixon. They finished with 100 VPs from their seven matches, 6 VPs ahead of Bill Niccol, John Gladders, Graham Jepson & David Musson. The Gibson team was just one point behind with 93 VPs.
