Chelmsford Bridge Club has raised nearly £5,000 for Charity since it started running a monthly charity duplicate in September 2022.
Initially, the club tried a hybrid set-up reverting to its pre-COVID weekly face to face matches with a concurrent on-line duplicate. This didn’t work. So, the club swapped to a monthly Charity Face to Face session leaving weekly play on-line.
Members nominate a local charity and invite players to donate. Chelmsford Bridge Club not only covers all the costs, paying for the hall and refreshments etc., but also doubles any donations received.
With the club running teaching and beginner sessions on Mondays (F2F) and Wednesdays (On-line) in partnership with another Chelmsford Club as well as on-line weekly duplicate on Monday and Tuesday evenings and Friday afternoons, Chelmsford is now a friendly and healthy club.
Visitors are encouraged on 2nd Friday of every month. The club will be supporting:
- Essex and Herts Air Ambulance on 12th May @ 7pm
- Hearing Help Essex on 9th June also @ 7:00pm
