EBU Update - 5th April 2023

Below is your monthly update from the EBU. Please note there are a lot of important topics covered this month. This email is also available on the EBU website, along with all past EBU Updates.

Update from the Competitions Working Group

A poster showing the upcoming EBU events, can be found here. Please consider adding this to your club/county website and encourage your members to enter online via My EBU.

The Spring Bank Holiday Congress will be held in Reading this year, from the 27th - 29th May. This 3-day event will feature the prestigious Two Star Pairs for the first time, moving from its previous home at the Autumn Congress.

EBU ClubPairs

A simplified version of EBUScore Pairs which is intended for use in clubs has been developed and is called EBU ClubPairs. One club has been using ClubPairs since September last year. We would welcome other clubs to try the new software and provide feedback to jonathan@ebu.co.uk. Clubs and club scorers can download EBU ClubPairs by logging on to My EBU and going to Utilities --> EBUScore.

Make your club website stand out: free seminar

Next week the EBU will host the latest free club seminar: "Making the most of your website" taking place online via Zoom on 13th April at 10.00am.

This seminar is about web design, content, and a brief look at social media, the idea being to make the best use of a club website, including “secrets of BridgeWebs” with tips and ideas. It is a big topic but we will touch on a number of themes, and also hear from you what has worked or not worked for your club.

If you would like to attend, please email tim@ebu.co.uk.
