Two clubs in the South East Essex area joined forces to raise funds for the Parkinson's UK charity.
On the afternoon of Friday, 24th January 2020 Thorpe Bay Bridge Club and Southend & Leigh Bridge Club held a two-club simultaneous pairs event. The same boards were played at the same time at each of the club sites. In the event, 59 pairs participated. Results at both clubs were merged to produce the overall winning pair: Paul Spencer and Marc Chawner.
The competition, named the Bob Hair Charity Shield, was prompted by the sad death in 2019 of Bob Hair a long-standing member of both clubs.
The competition raised £450.00 from the two clubs.
