The Venetian Overseas Congress, sponsored by First for Bridge, concluded on 22nd October.
In the Swiss Pairs, Joy Blakey & Irving Blakey (pictured) finished top with 174 VPs. Karen Dewar & Adrian Fontes were second with 124 VPs and just one VP behind in third place were Ruth Edmondson & Brigid McElroy. The strat B winners were Stuart Shalom & Barbara Eastabrook. The strat C winners were Rosaleen Kaye & Linda Benneworth.
The Swiss Teams was won by the Davies team of Stuart Davies, Nichola Cockerill-Smith, Catherine Thompson & Lesley Bridson (picture) with a score of 132 VPs. The Cane team of Steve Cane, Tony Hall, Racehl ingham & Anne Catchpole finished second with 122 VPs.
