Club Management Focus: Spring 2019

National Inter Club Knockout

Entries for the National Inter-Club Knockout 2019/20 will close on Monday 30th September, but please encourage your club members to think in good time about entering.

The competition is open to all EBU-affiliated bridge clubs, and each club can enter as many teams as they wish (we have had over 200 overall in recent years, with just over 100 clubs being represented last year). Teams can be of between four and six players – at least four must be nominated at the time of entry, with others being added later if needed.

The event is played as a knockout throughout, with the draw regionalised in the early rounds so as to reduce travelling. There is a Plate competition at no extra cost which guarantees all teams (except seeded teams) at least two matches.

The intention of the competition is that clubs are represented by their established players. Further details are on the event page on our website, but please note that players must have been registered members of the club for at least three months prior to the closing date, i.e. by 30th June.

Entry forms will be available shortly on the website and should be submitted by an authorised official of the club, who should be satisfied of the credentials of the players.

We hope you will encourage the members of your club to form a team - or several.
