Below you will find a list of resources which we hope will aid you in creating your Bridge - It's a Big Deal! event. For further help, email festival@ebu.co.uk or Join our Facebook Group and discuss ideas with others.

Social Media Suggestions:

  • When posting details of your event on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) include key details e.g. date, time, venue and who to contact.
  • Ask you friends and family to share the posts to advertise it to as many people as possible.
  • Share your posts in the Bridge - It's a Big Deal! Facebook group. Contact festival@ebu.co.uk to share the posts via the EBU social media accounts.
  • Consider tagging other local organisations who work with older people such as your local council, housing associations and voluntary and community partners.

To help you in with social media posts, please feel free to use the following wording:

  • "Come along for free to [venue] to enjoy [insert event details], and try something new #BIABD [insert hyperlink]"
  • "Try something new on #BIABD2024 Book now [insert hyperlink]"
  • "Book your free place at our free [insert event name] #BIABD2024 [insert hyperlink]"
  • "Bookings now being taken for our free #BIABD2024 event. Don’t miss out [insert hyperlink]"

Don't forget:

  • Add photos to your posts as well as links to your website and event.
  • Share other peoples posts about upcoming events.

Promotional Videos:

Please feel free to add the below videos to your website or social media posts

Help with embedding videos: To embed videos to your website, from YouTube click the share option under the video, choose the embed option, then copy the code. In bridgewebs, create a News item, click Source in the editor, and paste the code. For additional help with embedding videos, please email festival@ebu.co.uk.

Posters and Logos:

Download our poster templates (example 1, example 2 and example 3), personalise them and put them up in your club and around your town

The above posters were created using the website Canva. You can create a free Canva account to help make your own posters, or download the ones above. You may find the following links useful: A step-by-step guide to using Canva, beginners tutorial for using Canva.

To make the most of your posters, once you have downloaded them, you can either:
A. Print them and then write your club/county details once printed or
B. Edit the pictures before printing. To do so, if using a windows computer, right click the downloaded file, select "open with" and "paint". This will open the file as a paint document that you can edit. From the toolbar at the top, select the text button (it looks like a capital A). This will allow you to select any space on your document and type in words. We suggest using size 48 for text and Calibri for the font.
Please note, you can edit the box of text until you click off it, at which point you will loose the ability to edit that text. If you do accidentally click off the text box and it was not finished, click "Ctrl+Z" and it will undo your previous action.
