We regret that due to an oversight changes to the timetable on Saturday, which were made as a result of feedback from previous years’ events, have not previously been publicised.
Formerly part of the National Teams Congress
As well as providing a rare opportunity to play with this fascinating and skillful form of scoring, the congress will be ideal for players wishing to add to their Green Point tally since there will be enhanced master points (master points will be awarded for matches won at a 50% enhanced rate in the qualifier and main final of the Point-a-Board teams).
The Point-a-Board Teams is part of the Championship Series, in which points can be earned towards the Player of the Year Championship.
There will be a qualifying multiple-teams event on Saturday, either all-play-all or split into sections depending on numbers. In the event that entries are insufficient for a qualifier and main and consolation finals, the event may be played as a complete round-robin over the two days On Sunday there will be a main final for the top teams with longer head-to-head matches, and a consolation final for everyone else.
A short guide to Point-a-Board matches is available here, read David Gold's guide to the tactics of PAB in the June 2013 issue of English Bridge, or read Brian Senior's discussion of the different tactics for Point-a-Board, IMPs and Match Points.
